I said in my previous blog post that the most effective online advertising is one that gets the most targeted traffic to your website. But how do you get targeted website traffic? Where do you find all the targeted prospects who may be interested in buying what you have to offer?

Apparently there are many ways to find targeted website traffic.

For example, almost for any niche, you can use Pay Per Click advertising to get targeted traffic to your website. But Pay Per Click can be costly if you do not have a good sales process.

There is another easy way to get targeted website traffic without spending much money. But many people are not using it.

The method is to get the targeted traffic from other people’s list - also known as joint venture. But it’s not what you think.

You see, the internet has developed into a stage where almost every active online user is on someone’s list, depending on what their interests are.

A dog lover is on the list of some dog training gurus, an opportunity seeker is on the list of some internet marketing gurus and so on.

So if you want to penetrate into any market niche, your job really is to think of a JV proposal that is mutually beneficial and get your targeted traffic directly from the list owners in your niche.

If you can rinse and repeat this single technique, you will be the next guru in your own niche in no time.

Many years back, a 24-year-old newbie online marketer went round asking other newbie marketers to contribute a chapter to his new ebook, on the agreement that each of them will promote the free ebook to their lists. Frequent 'clicking' or 'surfing' also is often a requirement for 'active' membership in the more popular exchanges and doing so allows for constant exposure to thousands of potential visitors, customers and/or clients

Continuing the guidance from the series, "Being Self-Employed: How To Set Up A Business Website" this article addresses the next set of concerns for those that have already completed parts 1 and 2 of the series.

Now that you've created your website/blog and are excited about the goods and/or services that you provide, a crucial support and marketing method needed to make your business thrive is business networking. Many 'brick and mortar' businesses join local Better Business Bureaus or Chambers of Commerce, and although the internet does sport an online version of the BBB there are additional resources available that can take your 'newbie' enterprise to an exciting professional level.

MerchantCircle is one such resource. The site offers a FREE business listing which features a micro-website that offers:

1. A business profile of your business. This feature allows for upload of your business logo, a business photo, the address and contact information and a brief description of your business.

2. A blog. If you've chosen to establish a free website for affiliate marketing or selling your products/services this is an excellent feature that allows you to post updates on the latest new arrivals, offerings, accomplishments and upcoming events to the public at large! It encourages the habit of sharing a bit of yourself with established and potential customers which allows a more personable business interaction.

3. Free coupon templates. Everyone likes a discount! MerchantCircle offers coupon templates so that you don't have to spend time [or money] creating your own coupons/discounts for marketing purposes! Fill in the blanks, choose your format then click 'save' and you have a nice coupon [the free account allows for 3 coupons on the main page] for customers and potential customers to use as they do business with you.

4. A map. The location and directions to your business is always a bonus and having a map of the general area your business is in creates a very crisp professional listing that gives your business the same stature as more established ventures.

5. A newsletter. For those of us, like myself, that want a polished looking newsletter to send to our expanding mailing list, this option can't be beat. Templates, colors and adaptability are all managed with the click of your mouse!

It takes less than 45 minutes to set up an account and design your site [which offers quite a few color combinations and templates]. Another 5 minutes to launch your site and see if there are any merchants in your area that you'd like to connect with and invite into your networking circle and your business listing is 'live' on the web competing with any local electronic yellow page listing.

The site also offers advertising packages that manage your listing, submit to search engines, create ads and generally do all of the listing maintenance for you -- freeing up time with which to focus solely on doing your business!

Membership in a business community, marketing tools, how-to tutorials and a professional internet listing! All in one easy to navigate and extremely user friendly interface. That's my idea of making 'money da easy way' -- creating an online presence, getting FREE professional marketing tools and assistance while learning the ropes of being a successful entrepreneur from others that have both experience AND goods/services that can be of help to you!
